Lexus RZ 300e - A Nightmare in Cold Weather & False Promises

I bought the Lexus RZ 300e Premium, expecting a reliable luxury EV, but it has been one of the worst decisions I've made. The advertised 266-mile range is a complete lie—in reality, I have to charge three times a day just to cover that distance. In freezing temperatures, I parked my car with 56 miles at night, only to wake up with 25 miles, and within 2 miles of reaching a charger, it dropped to 0!
Charging is painfully slow—it takes more than an hour to reach 80%, and in cold weather, a full charge takes forever. Worse, I cannot turn on the cabin heat, making winter driving unbearable. A simple 3-4 hour trip to NY or RI stretches to 10-12+ hours due to slow charging, rare stations, and long wait times because other cars are in queue.
Lexus management is incompetent and takes no responsibility. They will say it's your fault to buy. You might blow heat full or drive fast. Anyhow, thanks for buying a Lexus from us. They falsely advertised a $7,500 federal tax rebate and a $4,500 state rebate, but none of their cars qualify! I will be filing complaints with the BBB and Attorney General for false advertising, unfair trade practices, and deceptive marketing. At this rate, by the time I finish this review, I might freeze to death in Massachusetts' third snowstorm of the season, because who knows when these EVs will just die in the cold?
Do yourself a favor—avoid the Lexus RZ 300e at all costs! Please don't buy an EV.

OMG, hi twin. I also despise my 2025 RZ 300e. To be fair, I do like the bells and whistles—but holy moly, Spiderman—they seriously dropped the ball on safety.

Just last week, I thought I had enough range to make the last seven minutes home. Nope. My RZ gave a single, tiny “ding,” and as I looked down—bam—0% and the propulsion power of one dying hamster. It died two minutes away from a charging station.

I had it towed to the dealership and tried to file my claim. Instead of genuine concern, I got a laugh and a push to “upgrade” into a hybrid lease—at $200–$500 more per month—with a company I was quickly losing trust in. When I declined their predatory upsell, they reluctantly performed diagnostics. Results? All green. Yet I was left deeply unnerved by the vehicle’s lack of escalating warnings and its poorly designed low-battery reserve—and sickened by the dealership’s handling of the situation. For $50,000, I expected so much more.

I’ve only had mine since April, but I’ve driven it below 20% multiple times and cannot recall ever getting a clear, impactful low-battery alert. Maybe there was a soft ping, but if I can’t remember it, it clearly wasn’t enough. That’s dangerous—both at highway speeds and in everyday driving conditions.

The dealership? Stonewalling. Corporate? Useless. I even had to resubmit my claim because they failed to investigate it the first time. Fingers crossed they actually do their jobs this round.

Honestly—doesn’t this seem like the kind of thing that could lead to a class action lawsuit? Because it sure feels unsafe enough to me.

I complaint to FTC, BBB, National highway, lexus cooperation, no help now i am planning to sue them because their battery capacity is 66.6 KWh instead of 72.8 KWh, prove me wrong.
I am also being pushed toward suing (perhaps the lemon law or design flaw route?), but only because they've left me no choice. My RZ's battery drained to 0% long before I expected it to and only alerted upon full battery depletion at that. No prior warnings, at least none that were effective at preventing the situation and I am a turn-signal-loving, no-texting-while-driving, clean-record driver. Lexus Dealership has been awful. Lexus Corporate has been useless. I'm so surprised by their poor customer service thus far

I am having the exact same issues. Lexus corporate and the dealer won’t do anything. Have you reached any progress towards resolution? I’m at my whit’s end dealing with them.
I'm also struggling to resolve an issue with my RZ. The dealership is stonewalling and corporate has been useless. I had to resubmit my claim because they closed it just 6 days after acknowledging receipt. No further diagnostics. No attempt to replicate the issue. No attempt to acknowledge my concerns whatsoever. DEFINITELY No inclination to release me from my lease or buy it back. Though I do hope they'll reconsider upon actual investigation. I'm sick to my stomach.
