Software update Privilege Line?

I recently got my new RZ and the dealer told me that there was a new update which should increase the range by about 30-50 km along with some other small changes and improvements.
After a few days I noticed that the battery % was nowhere to be seen on the car so I called the dealer to ask and he then told me it should be visible due to the latest update. But in my car it wasn't... He then called me back later to tell me that the update apparently was only done for the Business and Executive Line but not yet for the Privilege Line. He had no information when this update would come...

Does anyone here have any more information about the future update? Pretty strange to me that they don't update the different lines at the same time?

Me RZ executive had an update last Friday together with a first maintenance check. All was fine, the build version is still on 2050 but now I do have the battery percentage and the difference between with and without A/C in the app is only 13 km (324 / 311 at 88% battery level). I did not drive much since I was in the garage, let's see what happens after a longer drive and charging. I asked Lexus to activate the option to open and close the windows with the key, that works now.

That's really strange. I would hope you could get the update, giving you the battery % display, regardless of trim. My dealer has never mentioned a word about an update that provides more range, though I got the % update to the display. Maybe a gimmick? IDK. I would call another Lexus dealer, if you have another near you.

My Lexus dealership e-mailed me this
"OTA updates for our Lexus Interface models are rolled out in “waves” rather than distributed everywhere simultaneously. I’ve attached 2 pics showing the software version (2170) that does show the SOC% within the on-screen dashboard image (see images). If your software version is lower than 2170, that would explain the “missing” SOC% graphic. If you want to bring your vehicle in so we can determine if a flash-forced update is available for your vehicle, you can set up an appointment with our Service Department.

I am going to call them tomorrow to schedule my appointment.

Not sure if this applies but here in the UK the Premium Plus line doesn't have it either and Belfast Lexus has said that it's not been rolled out to Heads Up Display models due to an issue it bricks the display. that is a full dash out to replace so all upgrades are restricted to those models without Heads Up Display until Lexus fixes the issue

Where do you see your battery percent level? Mine is a 2023 also but are you in the US? All mine will show is the mileage that is left. When I spoke to Lexus they said that there is no update for the US market and that all the cars are different specs for different regions. I don’t understand why Lexus would completely disregard the US market but give it to everyone else.

I was able to schedule my service today. There was no update.
My car is still on build 2050.

I got an email from the tech advisor at my local Lexus dealership sharing information from a tech forum for Lexus service and dealership. On the email it states that there is a TISB that the update is only for the BZ4X. Some Rz say it is available but the TISB advises not to update yet. The techs speculated that it may come down in the future.

So why do some RZ already have the update but others don't? Doesn't really make sense does it?
I'll try to get some more information through my Toyota Motor contact

I'll add to the confusion. My US 2024 RZ450e Premium with HUD and a 12/23 build date (driver door frame sticker), delivered 3/14/24, came with software version 2170 and the battery % level. I'm pretty sure my dealer didn't upgrade anything. So it looks like US cars have been getting the upgrade from the factory since at least 12/23.

By the way, I'm pleasantly surprised with my RZ's range since we bought it mainly for it's styling and 20" wheels. Getting approximately 200 miles per 80% charge. I'm not running to zero, that's actual plus estimated remaining miles.

Does the 2023 Premium have the HUD ? Here in the UK it doesn’t. Lexus IT fiddled with the update after it was first issued and it crashed all the HUD’s. It was so bad that the affected cars had to have the whole dash removed to replace the HUD - guaranteed to bring creaks and groans. It took Lexus months to sort the problem, but I believe it was sorted.
My May 2023 car was one of the first to have it and it installed well and hasn’t created any problems.
I‘m suggesting this as you said it was a 2023 model - the initial version of the update came in the UK in Feb 24 and all 2024 cars came with it installed.

Just reading through these older posts, I'm assuming everyone now has this update. I have the RZ 450E Luxury version here in the US. I had the update performed in May'25. It was called "25LCO3". It now shows the battery percentage and I appear to be getting a higher Mile/KW. Before I could get as high as 3.1, now I routinely get 3.6. I do not put a lot of highway miles on the car, as most of my driving is around town. Did notice Lexus is coming out with more efficient battery technology for 2026 and appears to be on track to start delivering solid state batteries by 2027-2028. This will be a "game changer" for the automotive world.

Welcome to the forum, @bwarren. What part of the country are you in?

The warmer temperatures can account for differences in efficiency even with AC usage. I don't think there would have been significant efficiency changes in the firmware update. I have heard of buffer protection level changes as well as better range estimates, but you have the mi/kWh for your type of driving so you should have a better idea than your car how far you can go.

Well, I just got the update on my premium.

There is only a 3 mile difference with or without economy AC on instead of the usual 30 mile difference. I will see how it behaves over the next couple of weeks if usable range is and how accurate. When I drove home from the dealership that was 8 miles away it went from 48% to 47%. I wish I can see remaining kWh.
